Galloway Nature Experience Area

The Galloway natural experience area is located in the north of Schleswig. On the hilly terrain of approx. 13 hectares you can experience different habitats with a great variety of plant and animal species. There is a large willow in the center. Here you can watch the quaint Galloways, an old breed of cattle from the British Isles, at work as landscapers.
Roam through the nature experience area on the circular route and discover the numerous nature experience stations. Dream under apple trees, try out your voice in the humming stone, watch the animals at the pond from the jetty or take a look at the insect hotel - whether alone or as part of a guided tour, you will get close to nature with all your senses.
The nature experience area "Galloway" was officially recognized in 2006 on the initiative of the BUND district group Schleswig-Flensburg. The main entrance to the nature experience space is at the end of the cul-de-sac on Gildestrasse in Schleswig. The bus line 1504 stops directly in Gildestrasse. The nature experience area is accessible all year round.
