Biogenetic nature reserve and wetland of international value recognized under the 'Ramsar Convention'.
The Vincheto di Celarda Nature Reserve, whose name is linked to the cultivation in the 19th century of wicker willows (from "vinchi", the flexible branches of the plant), occupies a river belt of about 99 hectares in the Municipality of Feltre in Celarda and it is managed by the Carabinieri - Territorial Office for Biodiversity of Belluno.
The environment is splendid and satisfying. A fascinating place.
Numerous resurgences and water ponds, residues of the last great glaciation of 10,000 years ago. The area is bordered by the Piave river, the Caorame torrent and the Celarda torrent.
Easy walks are possible where you can admire various natural or renaturalized environments, repopulation enclosures and care for wild and domestic animals and river fish breeding tanks for repopulation.
There are large herbivores in the semi-wild state or closed in special large enclosures: deer, chamois, roe deer, etc.
The vegetation is very luxuriant and overbearing. Numerous birds.
