Guilt was already affected by the flooding of the Ahr on July 21, 1804 and the flooding of the Ahr on June 13, 1910. Due to the 2021 Ahr flood on July 15, low-lying parts of the village (242 m above sea level) were severely damaged. About 50 people were rescued from rooftops. Six houses collapsed, the electricity and drinking water supply was cut off. On July 18, 2021, then Chancellor Angela Merkel visited the site to get an impression of the damage.
