The nature reserves are a remnant of the historic Ab(t)sheide, which stretched across the border area of the municipalities of Beerse, Rijkevorsel and Merksplas. The fens and pools attract many special plants and animals. A hotspot for salamanders and dragonflies. Proof that nature thrives there! You can also enjoy a nice walk between the Galloway cattle and sheep during the grazing period. Sturdy and waterproof shoes are strongly recommended, especially in wet periods.
