The Maria Chapel on the Broekdijk was inaugurated in May 2005. It replaces an earlier chapel that was founded in 1946 by Jan van der Loo, who promised this during the Second World War if he were not employed in Germany. This monument had to make way for the restructuring of the Broekdijk, which took place in 2002-2003. After that, the current monument was built by local residents.
