The Church of St. Stephan was first documented in 893, but could be older: Two Roman reliefs in the lower part of the tower suggest a former pagan-Roman cult site, an ancient gravestone (4th century) was incorporated as a spolium into the corner of the tower. The current, late Baroque form with the 47 m high onion dome, unusual for the region, dates from 1789–1791 (architect Peter Reheis, Blieskastel). Worth seeing: the baptistery in the tower, once the choir of the medieval predecessor church, with Gothic ribbed vaulting and fresco remnants. Individual monument on the Saarland's list of monuments.
