The railway cycle path and today's hiking / cycling path on the former railway line of the Weißig-Dürrröhrsdorf route, also known as the Schönfelder Hochland cycle path, is worth a visit. The developed and asphalted cycle path leads over approx. 14 km (one way) through a natural landscape away from the main roads and is much more relaxed to ride than the often overcrowded Elbe cycle path, as it has so far been spared the tourist crowds. The route begins at the former railway embankment in Weißig and leads with the slight incline typical of railway lines in a slight up and down to Dürrröhrdorf-Dittersbach. Almost the entire route was expanded on the former embankment, there are only bypasses in the built-up sections of the villages. The route is also suitable for families and inline skaters. Since the railway line, which went into operation in 1908, was shut down in 1951, there are hardly any noticeable traces of the railway era left. The largest preserved structure is the viaduct over the Wesenitztal in Porschendorf, which was integrated into the cycle path.
