SPARGELGUT moated castle
Since 1992 we have been growing white, green and violet asparagus on our loess soil here in the Kraichgau.
We - this is a family business in which three generations are now employed. Our family has been managing the estate since February 2, 1933.
The owner is Heiko Junker, who initially started growing green asparagus in the Kraichgau. White asparagus was added later. Our soils are loamy and heavy, not sandy like in the original asparagus growing areas. In spite of this, or precisely because of this, our asparagus are tender and have an irresistible aroma.
After a thorough renovation, our farm shop has been shining in a new light since 2011. Our farm shop is located in the middle of the Wasserschloss estate - which also gave our asparagus its name.
The Hofgut is a former moated castle that was destroyed in 1694. Only a draw well from 1510 is a reminder of the past. It has belonged to the von Berlichingen family since 1663

We offer you white, green and violet asparagus in the farm shop during the asparagus season. Of course you can also have the asparagus peeled on site.
You can also get apples, potatoes, turkey ham, wine, honey and hollandaise sauces. Cookbooks and various free recipe booklets complete our range of asparagus products.
In the strawberry season (from mid-May) you can get different strawberry varieties fresh every day.
Our farm shop is only open during the asparagus season (mid/late April to around June 24th).

Mon - Fri 9am - 12pm and 3pm - 6:30pm
Saturday 9am - 4pm
Sunday and public holidays 9 a.m. - 12 p.m
