According to legend, the Spanish general Don Dionysius Vicca, born in Cadiz (Costa de la Luz, southern Spain), built the chapel on the Heinkensberg in Wever around 1572 - 1573. As a token of gratitude after he, as army commander of Alva, achieved a victory over one of the armies of William of Orange.
