For the state of Bavaria, the municipality of Ampfing has an extraordinarily close relationship with energy technology and energy management. Since that time it has been carrying two crossed morning stars, which are reminiscent of the last knight battle near Ampfing in 1322, and a drill bit that points to the oil and gas discoveries in the area around Ampfing.
