✈️ Flugplatz Kulmbach

The commercial airfield in Kulmbach is located north of the town of Kulmbach.
The favorable geographic location offers excellent opportunities for gliding to cross-country flights in the adjacent low mountain ranges, especially the Franconian Forest, Thuringian Forest, Fichtelgebirge and Franconian Jura, but also as far as the Ore Mountains, Upper Palatinate and Bavarian Forest and the Swabian Jura. The airfield is home to several gliding clubs in the region.
Year-round flight operations are possible from Kulmbach. The airfield adjoins a forest area and has a high recreational value in the center of Upper Franconia. Motorized flight, gliding, motorized gliding and ultralight flight are operated at the commercial airfield in Kulmbach.

Even if there are no flights, the magnificent view of the Franconian Forest and a walk in the adjacent forest are worthwhile.
