    Rhyolth stone is used for the production of ceramics if it is of good quality. This mine was operated by the Thieme family until the 1970s. The mining of the rock was fed to the ceramic industry. Because of the poor quality, mining became increasingly unprofitable. The material was later used to build dirt roads (often as a surface layer) in the Wolfersweiler district. For this purpose, too, the material was not particularly suitable, so that the mining was completely stopped. Source: Text information board
