The broken stones from this quarry were used to build houses in Wolfersweiler until the 1950s. Stones from this quarry are used in many houses in the village. It was not particularly suitable for masonry because of the ability of the rock to decay. Therefore it was mostly used to fill ceilings. In the later years up to the turn of the millennium, the stones were still used as a substructure for building dirt roads. The quarry has been idle ever since. Source: Text information board
