In 1750, a chapel was built in Hockai. Seven years later, it was dedicated to Saint Donat. In December 1878, the municipality of Francorchamps approved the project to build a new church on the site of the existing one. The church was built by the Dessaucy de Theux company according to the plans of the architect Charles-Etienne Soubre and consecrated in 1888.
