The cycle path along the Spandau shipping canal is the beginning of the Berlin-Copenhagen cycle path. It first winds its way through some allotment gardens until the canal flows into the Havel at the northern end of Lake Spandau.

The Spandau Shipping Canal is part of the Berlin Lagoon and was built in the 19th century to connect the city of Berlin with neighboring provinces. Today the canal is not only used for shipping, but also as a popular cycling and walking path.
The cycle path along the canal is lined with beautiful trees and green meadows that invite you to take a relaxing bike ride. There are also some historic buildings and piers along the way, giving a glimpse into the canal's past.
A special highlight of the cycle path is the Spandau lock, which is still in operation and is an interesting example of Berlin's shipping history.
