The memorial is located at the northern bridgehead of the Stennert Bridge, entrance to the Lennepark. It is one of the landmarks of Hohenlimburg, donated by the Hohenlimburg cold rolling industry. It was designed in 1960 by the Krefeld sculptor Prof. Theo Akkermann (1907-1982) and cast in bronze, erected and inaugurated on June 2, 1961.

The 2.02 m high sculpture shows a cold waltz in his typical protective clothing with a roll of steel strip. As a counterpart to the cold waltz, the warm waltz is on the other side of the Stennert Bridge.
