Best Hikes to Hubertus Chapel

Tips

  • The Hubertus chapel was built from building material that came from the demolition of the Eggenberghof (see highlight "Hüll an der Wüstung Eggenberg"). This farm was detached and demolished by the state around 1860. The areas were afforested. The Hubertuskapelle represents the popular Saint Hubertus (katholisch.de/artikel/65-der-heilige-aus-dem-wald), the patron of hunters, foresters, forest workers and rifle clubs, so very suitable for the Location. Because the saint also became the logo of a well-known herbal schnapps, whose disciples apparently also often make pilgrimages to the Hubertus Chapel and, because of their enthusiasm for the saint, forget to take their rubbish with them.
