The refuge is located in a grassy valley at the foot of Monte Zucco. The cross of Mount Zucco, 22 meters high, was erected by the GESP group in 1965 in memory of all "the valley dwellers who honored the virtues of our people in peace and war".
At the foot of the cross there is also a chapel with a leaf-shaped roof and a bivouac with six beds (also made by GESP).The "Monte Zucco" refuge was inaugurated in 1981 and is open from April to September every Sunday (without kitchen service) or by reservation to use the 20 beds.

Very simple to reach. Boots are a must! But the slope is moderate and the forest path very pleasant. You can stop here or continue towards Mount Zucco. With a little attention to the signs, it is not difficult to stay on the correct route.

Nice refuge to stop before or after the climb to the summit. Even when closed it allows you to take shelter and rest while protecting yourself from the heat or bad weather.
