A hidden gem. One of Yorkshires finest road climbs hidden in a quiet and relatively unknown backwater. Ridden from the east starting at the bridge it starts brutally steep. Genuine 25% up to a right left in Countersett. Its then calm at 8% for a while up to the main event hairpins at 22%.
Beautiful road in and fabulous descent back down into Wensleydale.
Another of those "if Simon Warren knew about this it would have been in the 100 Greatest Cycling Climbs"

He, he... This one will have you chewing the handlebars! Unless you are super fit & super skinny, enjoy the moment of respite as you cross the Countersett road. Whilst the hairpin at the top isn't quite as steep as the start of the climb, it is still vicious and your legs are screaming.

During your ascent, you've passed some spectacular views to your left. I bet you were staring down at the tarmac though?
