Here's the way up! Kaufunger Wald is located between Kassel and Witzenhausen or Hann. Münden and wait with some height meters. The ascent from Witzenhausen is a bit steeper than in the other direction. After all, you land at around 450 meters altitude. The highest point of the Kaufunger forest is the Hirschberg at 643 meters altitude.
