The "Seeve" nature reserve (NSG) extends along the upper and middle reaches of the Seeve from the source area in Wehlen near Undeloh to the Maschen marshalling yard in the north. Parts of the NSG are part of the FFH area 041 "Seeve". Furthermore, the former NSG "Hangquellmoor bei Weihe" and "Altes Moor" with their biotopes worthy of protection and the species associated with them were integrated into the protected area.
