This is where the golden hat was found. The "Golden Hat" is made from one piece of embossed sheet gold cone, which was found in 1835 in Schifferstadt. Its age is estimated to be 3,000 years. The original can be admired in the "Historisches Museum der Pfalz" in Speyer. A copy can be found at the town hall of Schifferstadt.

The original is in the Historical Museum of the Palatinate in Speyer, a copy can be seen in the museum of local history, as well as in the foyer of the Schifferstadt town hall.

The hat served religious purposes in its time as a ceremonial hat. The same applies to the other found hats, which are different in form and material and were common in the Bronze Age in Europe.

The ornaments may conceal a complex calendar of figures still waiting to be deciphered.
