Accessible by gravel via Fleurey sur Ouche and / or Clemencey.
Accessible by mountain bike via the Col de la Maillé and the Col du Leuzeu (fairly rough paths, good technical level recommended)

      LEUZEU is
.

      - A small valley crossed by a stream on the territory of the commune of Fleurey-sur-Ouche, lost in the mountain at an equal distance from the villages of Clémencey, Flavignerot, Urcy and Velars.

      - It is above all a place steeped in history:

+ Old monastic barn in the 13th century.

+ Then domain of the Dukes of Burgundy in the 14th and 15th centuries.

+ A pretty fortified manor house was built there in the mid-17th century, the center of a seigneury until the Revolution.

+ It is finally a high place of the Resistance where a violent battle took place between resistance fighters and militiamen from Vichy in July 1944.

Fallen into ruins since 1930, the remains of the fortified manor are being rehabilitated by an association "LES AMIS DU VAL DE LEUZEU" which became the owner of the estate in 2010.

      - Finally, it is a well-known hiking place with many possibilities for circuits. The association has produced a brochure "Le Cahier du Leuzeu n ° 6" presenting 20 hikes passing through Leuzeu.
The GR 7 passes nearby (about 800 m).

The association offers walkers and hikers:

      - A large maintained space equipped with two large tables benches and two small spaces in the valley for picnics.

      - An awning and an old barn for shelter.

The Leuzeu site is exemplary in terms of the restoration of the dwellings, which began at least twenty years ago. And also for its location.
