One of the most striking buildings in the municipality of Vught is the beautiful town hall. Before this building was actually used as a town hall, it was known as the Leeuwenstein country house. In 1901, the banker Herman van Rijckevorsel had the old villa demolished to make way for the current Villa Leeuwenstein. This villa is built in a neo-gothic architecture with stately stepped gables, battlements and towers. In 1937 the villa was converted into a town hall by architect Valk. Many (local) artists and craftsmen contributed.
