In the Basse-Semois sector (Group D), there were more than 20 guerrillas camps during the last world war. Depending on the circumstances of this war, they were abandoned, razed by the enemy or rebuilt elsewhere.
That of the “Badgers” is the only one to have been rehabilitated after the war and to be maintained as a witness to the life of the Maquis.
It gives an idea of what was involved in a camp and the exceptional environment in which it was located. You will see dormitory huts, a shelter for the kitchen, a refectory, a cellar for provisions, a stone altar and a small esplanade for the taking of arms: the mast where the flag was hoisted every day.
