As early as 1882, a technical center was opened in Neustadt-Glewe. However, the technical middle school for the construction trade and for the engineering and mill construction was initially on the historic castle. On November 4, 1890, the new technical center was inaugurated in Ludwigsluster Street. The new technical center, built in the classical style, brought great benefits to the city. With its inauguration could be trained in Neustadt-Glewe even more masters and technicians, now also in the trades carpentry and electrical engineering. Only three years later, 454 students visited the technical center, which at that time offered excellent training opportunities. So it is hardly surprising that in 1902 two students from Neustadt-Glewe caused a great sensation. With a self-built automobile, they explored the surroundings of the city and made sure that they talked about the edge of the Lewitz beyond the technical center. Only a few years later, a student made headlines again. Probably the first aviation pioneer of Mecklenburg was also a pupil of the Neustadt technical center. In 1910 he built a biplane with two propellers, and in the thirties of the last century a glider was also developed and built here. The good reputation of the educational institution meant that the students came from the kingdoms of Prussia, Bavaria and Saxony, from the free Hanseatic cities of Hamburg, Lübeck and Bremen as well as from Switzerland, Russia, Brazil, Finland, Holland, Austria-Hungary and Egypt. In 1935, the technical center was closed and made room for a flying school. A completely different use experienced the house in the years 1945/46, when the city urgently needed a hospital and hospital. Today the Technikum again houses an educational institution. There are dental and agricultural professions taught.Sources:
