Tips
A fence blocks access, but you still have a great view of the “Sorge” granite quarry. Hard rock has been mined again in the opencast mine since it was shut down in 2001. Thanks to its durability and resistance to weathering, granite is an ideal stone, which is further processed here into armourstone, paving scrap and bricks.
