The second oldest cinema in Munich: The Museum Lichtspiele
Three years after the Gabriel-Lichtspiele, on November 24, 1910, Carl Gabriel opened his second Munich cinema, this time in the Au. He called it Gabriel's Tonbildtheater. It was installed in a former variety theater in a residential building not far from the Deutsches Museum, which is why the cinema has also been called Museum-Lichtspiele since 1918. Until it was closed in April 1945, it had between 220 and 280 seats, changed operators several times and played the usual suburban cinema program. Not much changed after the Second World War.
