St. Catherine's Church NeuenmörbitzAlttar room church NeuenmörbitzA mention from 1528 says that it originally had the name of Saint Catherine as a chapel and was a subsidiary church of Lgl.-Niederhain. In 1742 and 1743 structural changes were made to the church and also to the steeple, but more significant changes in 1847. The stone pulpit is placed above the altar made of black marble. The font from 1847 is also made of black marble. It has a domed lid and a pewter font with an inscription. The church received an organ built by the Glauchau brothers Donat in 1770. The 3 bells of the church were cast and reinforced in 1851 and each has an inscription. The church was extensively renovated inside and outside from 1995-2000. In 2006 the first construction phase of the general overhaul of the wooden structure of the church tower began.

A former chapel, which in 1528 was named St. Catherine, was remodeled in the Baroque style from 1742-1743. In 1847 the appearance was further changed.
