The Bräutigamsweg in Neudorf-Platendorf (Sassenburg municipality) is far more than just an ordinary dirt road. It is a historic place in the Great Moor, combining a romantic legend with the hard pioneering work of the early moor colonists. The name of the path comes from an old tradition. Before there were cars or smartphones, the young people of the village would meet in the evenings on the kilometer-long village street for a walk together.
