Idyllically situated pond with a beautiful little hiking trail.

A narrow hiking trail criss-crossed by tree roots runs along the east bank of the "Smale Beeke" pond.
The first documented mention of today's district of Schmalenbeck dates back to 1314. Since 1444 it belonged to Hamburg. The “Smale Beeke” (narrow stream) flowed from the underground village pond “Groten Diek” (there is a street of the same name). At least until the unification of the two communities in 1872, the Viebach essentially formed the border between Großhansdorf and Schmalenbeck.de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gro%C3%9Fhansdorf
