The military structures of the Cape Enfola peninsula were built in the period between the two World Wars, as part of the "Coastal Defense" plan which affected all of Italy between 1935 and 1938.
The coastal battery was built to keep under control the body of water that separates Elba from the Tuscan coast from Corsica.

Hiking

If you arrive early, you can easily a parking lot at the bottom of the hill. It's a nice hike and you will find some ruined buildings from WW2 in the area. Also Walk die to Capo D'Enfola to enjoy the great view.
