The Frankenweg leads over the Vestisches Höhenridge. When the weather is nice, views of the entire Ruhr area are possible here. At Suderwich you can see the skyline of Dortmund, take a look at the Hoheward spoil tip and near Hillen there are views of Herne, Recklinghausen and Gelsenkirchen. When the fields are overgrown in summer, however, visibility is somewhat restricted.
