Railway line Tilburg - Turnhout, popularly known as the Bels Lijntje, was a railway line between Tilburg and Turnhout. North of Baarle-Nassau Grens Station, this formed the Dutch part of Spoorlijn 29. Since 1990, a bicycle path has been constructed on the route of the Bels Lijntje. Wikipedia

The Bels Lijntje is known by many as the direct cycle path between Turnhout and Tilburg. But a train used to race along this route. The route formed the Dutch part of Spoorlijn 29. Since the end of the twentieth century, the Bels Lijntje has been a bicycle route.

The path runs over the old Turnhout – Tilburg train bed.
In the 19th century, the Bels Lijntje, an iron railway connection of 31 km, thundered here.
In 1973, the last official train ran over this railway line.
Be aware that in some parts you have to share the narrow path with walkers and cyclists who are going in one direction or another. Courtesy is appropriate here.
