The church was built in the 15th century, but it was rebuilt in baroque style two hundred years later. The church tower in particular was given a dome. The holy water stoup dates from the time it was built and is adorned with the year 1477 and the coat of arms of the then castle owner of Altenburg, Wilhelm von Maxlrain.
