Vincent van Gogh was in Stuifzand:
"Got up early this morning because I was curious. The weather was beautiful, the air is clear and tingling like in Brabant ". Vincent van Gogh wrote this on 12 September 1883 in Stuifzand, where he stayed at Herberg De Sleutel, now a farm, 150 m after the Dorpshuis on the right. A few days later he painted a "Cottage" with sticks, and the Stuifzanders of today would like to know for sure whether it is a "cottage" from their village. There is a photo of a Stuifzander turf hut that looks just like the painting. The problem is again that all sod huts had roughly the same model.
