The church, consecrated to the Virgin, is a late-Romanesque construction of ashlars. It has a Romanesque façade with archivolts and a Gothic porch covered with a vaulted ceiling of large windows. The side chapels of the church are also added from later times. The apse is inside the polygonal semicircle. The corbels supported in sculpted statues are very numerous. On the west facade there is a Gothic portico and a belfry. Medieval remains of murals with the image of the apostles were found in the church.
The remains of a cemetery near the church show the possible presence of a populated area to which the church of Nuestra Señora de Treviño could have belonged.
