A first town hall of Neustadt-Glewe was mentioned in 1576. It probably fell victim to a fire and later demolition. In 1720 a second town hall was built, which was also destroyed by fire a few years later. Today's town hall in Lewitzstadt was built between 1802 and 1806. It is a two-storey, plastered half-timbered building with a classical triangular gable. The mansard roof is crowned by a central open lantern. The tower clock was equipped with a chime that sounds every quarter of an hour. In 1996 the town hall was extensively renovated. The third, new town hall was built from 1802 to 1806 in the baroque style as a freestanding half-timbered house on the approximately 30 × 40 meters large, rectangular marketplace. The predecessors fell victim to city fires.Source and further information:
