In 1885 the building became the property of the industrialist Heinrich Theodor Wuppermann, who had started manufacturing forged parts in Düsseldorf-Oberbilk 13 years earlier, but had relocated the company headquarters to Leverkusen in 1879. Villa Wuppermann was the family headquarters for a good 100 years. In 1987 the city of Leverkusen bought the property and four years later began to convert the listed villa into a “community center”. In 2008 Job Service Leverkusen (JSL) took over the management of the “parlor” in Schlebusch, and the villa soon became a “hit”.

Built as a country house for the Andreae family (from Cologne-Mülheim), then the seat of the Wuppermann family of manufacturers (hence the name), now a community center - especially for the citizens of Leverkusen Schlebusch.
