Kosmač Fortress (Montenegrin: Tvrđava Kosmač, Тврђава Космач) was the southernmost fortress in the Austro-Hungarian Empire and guarded the southern end of the border between the empire and Montenegro. It is located near the village of Brajići on a hill overlooking the road between Budva on the coast and Cetinje, the Montenegrin capital. Built in the 1840s, it was attacked during a revolt of 1869 and occupied by Austrian troops until the fall of the empire in 1918. After being handed over to the newly formed Yugoslavia, it was again occupied by Italian troops during World War II. The building is now abandoned and in a desolate condition.
