Pont-de-Bonne owes its name to the bridge crossing the Bonne stream coming from Tinlot and flowing nearby into the Hoyoux. These two valleys are steep and wooded. The town of Huy is 12 km away down the Hoyoux valley.

This Condrusian hamlet is located at the crossroads of national roads 636 Liège-Dinant and 641 Huy-Marche-en-Famenne. It is located below Modave and its castle.

On a rocky plateau dominating the hamlet, is the Roman Camp also called the Oppidum which supported a fortification of the Condruses and whose origin dates back to around a hundred years before Jesus Christ1.

Since the end of the 19th century, Pont-de-Bonne has been a tourist center. Even today, several cafes, restaurants, inns, hotels and businesses are located around the crossroads.

The Modave catchment located on the banks of the Hoyoux upstream of the locality was put into service in 1922. It is managed by the Vivaqua company and supplies between 53,000 and 80,000 m³ of water per day to the residents of Brussels2.

Coming from Huy, long-distance hiking trail 576 passes through the hamlet before climbing towards Modave castle. The old railway line 126, which has become a RAVeL from Marchin to Ciney, also crosses the town.
