This building on the moor near Running Hill Pits seems unusual. The datestone says "JL 1836" and the doorway is well made with ashlar stones. The rear had the remains of a circular window. It is said by locals to have been built as a store and shelter, probably for the nearby quarries, and the high quality work was because the construction was used to teach apprentice masons.
