The Col de Vé Gautier marks the highest point on a gorgeous ridge road that leads from the confluence of the Estéron and Var to the Col Saint-Raphaël, which in turn also connects the two parallel rivers.
This ridge road could also create a route highlight, but since there are different variants to drive from the valley road of the Estéron up to the crest road, a passport description appears more meaningful.
The 40-kilometer-long crest road surpasses itself with fantastic views of the low-lying Estéron valley, stretches of road exposed to the rock, loneliness, nature, secluded but well-preserved villages, good road quality and extremely pleasant grading percentages. Only in the very rocky passages caution is advised that you do not slash the tire with a stone lying on the road.
Due to the many routes available in the Estéron Valley, this road, or at least a part of it, is a must in the hinterland of Nice.
