On Wednesday, May 4th, 1949, the Archbishop of Bamberg at the time, Josef Otto, consecrated the new chapel to Maria, the "Patrona Bavariae".
The small chapel (probably from the 17th century) that existed until 1947 in the middle of the village was demolished.
