The carpenter's chapel in Wielitsch is a few 100 meters away from the South Styrian Wine Route. The picturesquely situated chapel was built around 1870 and is privately owned. The little church on the Ottenberg is dedicated to St. Michael, which is also an essential part of the high ages. The ringing of the bell in the bell tower can be heard three times a day (7:00 am, 12:00 pm and 7:00 pm) over the surrounding vineyards. When the view is clear, the view extends from Graz's local mountain Schöckl in the north, over the Koralpe in the west to Riegersburg in the east. Here in the picture the valleys of southern Styria are still largely shrouded in fog. Only the freshly snow-covered, higher-lying vineyards protrude.
