From Vytina, we started our ascent through a fir forest. Our goal was the summit in the ski center and the Mainalos mountain hut at about 1,600 meters altitude.
Here there is a tiny ski area with lifts, ski huts and equipment for snowmaking and piste preparation. Unbelievable!

We left Planitero through the plane tree forest at the springs of the Aroanios River and climbed up to the village of Armpounas.
The further path led us over stony trails through forests, goat paths and meadows to Agios Nikolaos. Afterwards, we continued on a gravel road above the village of Tourlada

We hiked through the gorge of the Vourraikos River, past waterfalls, along the cogwheel railway tracks. The landscape offered breathtaking views.
The path along the tracks was adventurous and crossing the numerous bridges spectacular, as they were partly unsecured.
