The sessile oak stands secluded in the Büdinger Forest in a forest clearing near the princely graves. Next to the oak is a large sandstone cross and the grave of Prince Otto Friedrich (1904–1990) and his wife Felizitas (1914–1989). The oak is the thickest sessile oak in Germany.
