Location: Büdingen, Wetteraukreis, Darmstadt District, Hesse, Germany
The sessile oak stands secluded in the Büdinger Forest in a forest clearing near the princely graves. Next to the oak is a large sandstone cross and the grave of Prince Otto Friedrich (1904–1990) and his wife Felizitas (1914–1989). The oak is the thickest sessile oak in Germany.(Source: monumentale-eichen.de/hessen/büdinger-wald/)

Here, as in many other places in the Büdinger Forest, very powerful solitary oak trees have developed; it is estimated that these are 300-400 years old.
