Bishop Bertalan had the former church and monastery built for the Dominican sisters in 1240. The daughter of King Béla IV was brought up here for six years when she was still a girl. The church with the monastery fell victim to the siege of the Turkish army and collapsed. The ruins were uncovered in 1938, today only the foundations and remains of the church walls can be seen.Within the framework of the project "Monasteries and Gardens at the Foot of Veszprém Castle" the restoration of the ruins was carried out, Margarete Square in front of the ruins was designed, e.g. with a fountain and a walk-in labyrinth.
