The temple is located on the south side of Yuhuang Mountain, maybe 1/4 up the mountain when coming from the Eight Diagram Field (Octagon Park).

It was built in 965 it is famous for the carved statues. It was destroyed by a fire in 1129, but rebuilt. During the following Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties the temple was repeatedly destroyed, damaged and rebuilt, but surprisingly the statues remained intact.
