In August 2003, work began on the new Lochrüti II wetland biotope in Wangen.
After more than 15 years of preparation, there was finally a chance, the canton was able to make the land available for nature conservation by exchanging land with the owner. Various ponds and ponds had been dug and sealed by the end of the year. As part of the “Operation Läbhag”, the women's association Brüttisellen planted a hedge over 100m long on November 1st. Additional structures are planned to be sheltered especially for obstetrician toads, gravel areas, tree sticks and grown (not planted) hedges.
